Involved in the manufacture of flanges and fittings since 1965, Albis Flanges has consistently maintained excellent standards across a range of flanges and fittings from stainless to various alloys.
The reputation for high standards, together with its ability to respond to the changing needs of the market, has resulted in the company establishing itself as a vital link in the petchem chain. The aim of the company is precision, with the operation running like a Swiss watch.
Recently it clinched a contract to manufacture large components for a power station in Turkey. Director Ahrmin Haas tells Stainless Steel that the company services the petro-chemical, chemical and allied industries, including refineries and power stations. “We have been a player for 36 years and grown as the industry has, starting with the inception of Sasol I.”
The company still operates from its original 4 000m2 premises in Elandsfontein, and has manual and auto machining facilities, as well as closed die forging. The company has done limited exports, but mainly supplies merchants. “The exchange rate has made local manufacture viable for both the local and international market,” comments Haas.
Commenting on the state of the industry, he says that hopefully there will be an upswing in take-off this year, given the considerable expansion plans being mooted for various local refineries.
“Our challenge is to ensure that the right product is supplied for the right application, with our focus being to service the local market to the best of our ability.”
Haas says that the company’s reputation for high standards, together with its ability to respond to the changing needs of the market, has resulted in it establishing itself as a vital link in the petro-chemical chain.
